Correction and Retraction Policy
The International Journal of Nursing and Midwifery Science (IJNMS) is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. We follow the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding corrections, clarifications, retractions, and expressions of concern.
1. Corrections (Erratum / Corrigendum)
-
Publisher's Error (Erratum): If a significant error is introduced by the production or editorial team that affects the scientific integrity or readability of the publication, a formal correction notice will be published as soon as possible. The original article will remain unchanged, with a linked correction note attached.
-
Author's Error (Corrigendum): If authors discover a significant error in their published work that affects the findings or conclusions, they must contact the editorial office immediately. A corrigendum detailing the changes will be published and linked to the original article. Minor typographical errors that do not affect the scientific content are generally not corrected.
2. Retractions Articles may be retracted by the editors, authors, or publisher if there is clear evidence of unreliable data, scientific misconduct (such as fabrication, falsification, or severe plagiarism), unethical research practices, or duplicate publication.
-
A formal Retraction Notice will be published, detailing the reason for the retraction and linked to the retracted article.
-
The original article will be clearly marked with a "RETRACTED" watermarked status on the PDF and online version to alert readers, while maintaining public access to ensure a transparent scholarly record.
3. Expressions of Concern In cases where editors receive inconclusive evidence of research or publication misconduct, or if an investigation is underway but will take a prolonged time to complete, IJNMS may publish an Expression of Concern linked to the article until a definitive resolution or retraction is reached.
